Last week of June + MIDSUMMER

Last weekend we celebrated Midsummer or JUHANNUS as we call it, in Finland. It's an important celebration for the Finns. It's also a historical celebration as it was celebrated before Christianity came to Finland. People usually spend it at summer cottages near water, where bonfires are burned. One important feature of this celebration is the white night and the midnight sun.

I celebrated Midsummer at a summer cottage with some relatives. We have always spent it there, except when my brother was born. ;) We took a sauna, swam a lot, barbecued and enjoyed each others company. We had lots of fun together. I didn't take many photos, because I got a cold, but here's what I did take.

Before mom, brother and I went to the cottage we stopped by at grandma's place. She came to the cottage, too, but not on the same day. Our car was full, so there was no room for her. :p haha. Anyway, I saw many beauuuuuutiful flowers at her garden, so I had to take photos.

I have also taken some photos at our back yard, so you'll see them, too. :)

Now to the mail update.
I received letters from:
- Julia, Finland
- Dora, Hungary
- Xiaomin, China

I also received so many cards and beautiful stamps. :) I'm so happy!
I'll show you the cards first.

And here are the stamps. :)

I started my summer job this week, so I haven't been able to send that many letters. :( Most of my days start at 6 am, so I need to wake up before 5 am. :o It's kinda tiring, but I do actually enjoy my job.
Still I was able to send letters to:
- Ilona, Latvia
- Ayaka, Japan
- Julia, Finland

I hope you'll enjoy the weekend!
I know what I'll be doing -- working.
